There was a strong cross channel challenge for the featured Irish Stallion Farms EBF Brownstown Stakes, with the Barry Hills-trained Spinning Queen snatching victory from fellow raider Wake Up Maggie.
Michael Hills' mount appeared to have little chance when at the rear in this eight runner Group 3 fillies event as Wake Up Maggie quickened clear early in the straight.
However the daughter of Spinning World lengthened her stride impressively when produced on the outer, and just got to the front in the shadow of the post.
'She's a good filly and is getting stronger. They went a good pace and she showed a great turn of foot,' said the successful rider afterwards.
Football and racing came together on the remainder of this seven race card with jockeys sporting the colours of Premiership teams in a fun contest for the MasterCard Football Furlong trophy.
Newly promoted Watford may be one of the minnows in the Premiership but they stole the show at the Foxrock venue with victories for Cabo and Orpailleur in their yellow silks.
Cabo set the ball rolling for the 'Hornets' when heading Piltown well inside the final furlong of the three-year-olds ten furlong handicap for a half length win under Fran Berry.
Orpailleur has proved a great servant to connections and the Joanna Morgan-trained gelding recorded his third win this year, and second over the course and distance, in the 7f handicap.
The well-backed 7/2 favourite was always prominent and sent clear inside the final quarter mile by Kevin Manning to beat Artist's Tale by three lengths.
Manning later completed a 19/1 plus double on a wet and windy evening, moving onto the 23 winner mark for the season, when Great Hope held on by a head from Cool Touch in the 3yo's mile handicap.
Fran Berry, successful earlier on Cabo, also partnered a 41/1 double when Keen Look, representing Arsenal, just denied the late flourish on the inner of Monteriggioni in the mile handicap.
Marfinca, 12/1 but paid over 23/1 on the Tote, benefitted from enterprising tactics by Emmet Butterly to record a convincing success in the 40-70 rated ten furlong handicap.
Sean Treacy's charge made all, gaining a significant advantage approaching the home turn before holding on to beat Tour De Force by three lengths.
Pat Smullen picked up a winning spare ride in the finale, replacing the sidelined Niall McCullagh aboard Sunshine Guest (Spurs) in the mile and a half handicap.
Kieren Fallon, currently suspended in Britain but free to ride over here, was out of luck on three rides managing a third place on Enfield Chase in the 6.50 race.
