Joe Murphy, trainer of the Irish 1,000 Guineas runner-up, Ardbrae Lady, foiled a Michael Halford/Johnny Murtagh double in the Orange Business Handicap with Ask Carol.
Halford's apprentice Emmet Butterly got the top-weight home by a head from the Murtagh-partnered favourite, Another Jayjay. The 5yo winner was breaking her duck at the 24th attempt.
An hour and a half earlier, Snaefell justified even money favouritism by the minimum margin for Halford and Murtagh in the juvenile five furlong maiden.
Owner J P McManus and rider Mark Walsh may also have been a little unfortunate not to have landed a brace in the opening two races.
Arigna, trained by Christy Roche didn't go unbacked at 8/1 when capturing the maiden hurdle by 1 1/2L in the hands of Walsh.
Half-an-hour later in the two and a half mile h'cap hurdle, Niall Madden-trained the Walsh-ridden, McManus-owned Team Allstar.
That one and Ballygally Bay collided with each other when in dispute for the lead at the final flight, allowing outsider, Missrepresenting up the rail for a 1 1/2L success.
Michael Cunningham's horses are in good form and though beaten in the first with the favourite, All Diamonds (fourth), he was on the mark later in the evening.
Ms Heather Topping owns All Diamonds and she also has Moving Diamonds, 3 1/2L winner of the sprint maiden under Billy Lee in training with Cunningham.
Odds of 50/1 were available about Any Ellells in the morning for the seven furlong maiden. That was hardly surprising given her two undistinguished performances beforehand.
However the daughter of Carrowkeel (16/1 out to 20/1 on track) stepped up a gear here under Padraig Beggy, beating Wychwood Wanderer by three parts of a length for Seamus Fahey.
Mooretown Boy completed a hat-trick for Frank Oakes and Wayne Lordan in the concluding seven furlong handicap.
