Aidan O'Brien has another potential star on his hands after the convincing victory of Geoffrey Chaucer in the Juddmonte Beresford Stakes at the Curragh.

Narrow winner of his only previous race in a Leopardstown maiden, the juvenile was sent off the 4-7 favourite on his step up to Group Two company and was settled in fourth of the five runners by Joseph O'Brien.

Sent up to the lead a furlong out, the son of Montjeu galloped on strongly when tackled by stablemate Oklahoma City and finished well on top, winning by a length and a quarter to book his ticket for the Racing Post Trophy at Doncaster.

The O'Brien team doubled up when 8-13 favourite Eye Of The Storm dug deep to collar Missunited close home for a three-quarters-of-a-length victory in the Listed Irish Field Loughbrown Stakes.

John Oxx's juvenile My Titania (11-10 favourite) continued her progress with a ready success in the Group Three CL Weld Park Stakes in the colours of Christopher Tsui, owner of her sire Sea The Stars.

She travelled sweetly into the lead at the furlong pole under Declan McDonogh and looked ready to win as she pleased, but she was harried all the way to the line by Chicago Girl and finished only half a length clear.

Chris Hayes was in no hurry on Paul Deegan's 16-length maiden winner Shining Emerald (7-2) in the Anglesey Lodge Equine Hospital Blenheim Stakes, but when required the youngster showed a smart turn of foot to cut down the odds-on Guerre and win the Listed race by three lengths.

Hayes and Deegan came close to doubling up with English Deer in the valuable Mongey Communications Joe McGrath Handicap, but Wayne Lordan produced Tommy Stack's 10-1 shot Nero Emperor from the rear and beat them by a head.

Dermot Weld introduced a potentially smart juvenile in Tested in the Irish Stallion Farms EBF Fillies Maiden, the 5-1 shot sweeping past Sparrow inside the final furlong to win by a length and three-quarters in the hands of Pat Smullen.
