< Kaprun could make a swift reappearance and take a jump in class after his victory in the Mourne Abbey Hurdle at Cork.
Brian Nolan's charge was sent off an 11-4 shot in the hands of Mick Darcy for the two-mile heat and his strong finish saw him edge out favourite Art Sleuth by a length.
Nolan said: "I'm having an unbelievable run, the horses are running out of their skins.
"We thought this lad a great chance today. Mick said they went a bit slow for him and that he'd be better suited to better races.
"We have him entered in the Champion Four Year Old Hurdle at Punchestown and if he comes out of the race sound, we'll probably head there."
Another winner who could head to Punchestown is Callherwhatulike (5-1) following her victory for jockey Philip Enright in the Mallow Hurdle.
Trainer Robert Tyner said: "We have her back to her best. We thought we were going to have to make the running with her but she got a lovely lead around.
"She's in the two-mile-two-furlong hurdle in Punchestown on the Saturday and we'll probably go there with her next."
Waterlogging may have claimed the two scheduled chases at the track but Damian Moran will not have let that bother him as he claimed a first winner over hurdles.
The rider partnered 15-2 shot Cluain Cearban to a head verdict over Zarkozy for trainer Eoin Griffin in the Firville Handicap Hurdle
"Damian works for me and he's a good lad. He rode a winner for Con Collins on the flat," said Griffin.
Patrick Mullins equalled Ted Walsh's record for the most winners as an amateur in a season as he partnered his 47th winner of the campaign aboard Jim The Falcon
Trained by Mullins' father Willie, the 13-2 shot defeated An Innocent Man by three lengths in the Glantane Maiden Hurdle.
The winning handler said: "He's a real chaser in the making.
"Patrick said he'd get further no problem, so we'll probably go for another hurdle with him as long as the ground stays nice and we'll put him away then and go chasing with him next season."
