Dreal Deal's trainer Ronan McNally has confirmed himself the owner of a number of David Dunne trained horses, including All Class and Full Noise which landed handicap gambles in the past months.
McNally rose to prominence when Dreal Deal completed a six-timer by winning Punchestown's Grade 2 Moscow Flyer Hurdle in January, two months after the Armagh based trainer had sent The Jam Man to win Navan's Troytown Chase.
McNally, who also runs a kitchen business, today confirmed he is the owner, and lessor, of a trio of David Dunne-trained horses All Class, Full Noise and the as-yet unplaced Petrol Head.
McNally stated “I have a restricted license and haven't the scope to train many horses. When I bought those few young horses I actually couldn't train them myself because I was restricted. I have applied for my full license which I haven't just got yet.”
Regarding plans to train the horses himself, he added “it all depends. If I get the scope with a full license and the horses are healthy, we will make decisions after that. I'll play it by ear, there is no great plans and I'll just enjoy it. It is a hobby and our (Krafty Kitchens & Bedrooms Ltd) business is very busy at the minute. It is hard to do everything with the kitchens and everything.”
McNally also had news on Dreal Deal, which holds an optimistic entry in the Irish St Leger, adding “he is still out in the field and I only stuck the entry in as it had to be in early. It was for the craic and there's no major plan and I didn't even know if he would be able for it so it is very unlikely.
“I'd say he'll probably go jumping, I'll hope to give him a couple of runs on the flat at the tail end of the flat season and I'll go over fences, I'd imagine. He was second in a four year old maiden point to point and will have no bother and was made to jump a fence.”
