Tony McCoy made a successful return to action at Southwell today after being stood down for 21 days following a fall at the Nottinghamshire track.
The five-time champion jockey suffered concussion when his mount Baron Allfours fell in division two of the maiden chase on July 23.
But he was soon back in the winner`s enclosure after steering 1-5 chance Suvertica to an effortless victory in the Mansfield Park Novices` Hurdle.
McCoy was pleased to be race-riding again and he told the Racing Channel: 'I`ve been on holiday, I went to Barcelona for a week, played a bit of golf but I`ve been bored to be honest. I`ve had enough holiday to do me for a while I hope.
'I`m feeling good- a little bit heavier than I was when I last rode. Hopefully I`ll get the weight right and get a few winners going. I`ve got down to 10st 7lb now. I was 11st 4lb-11st 5lb at one stage. You have to let it go at some stage and the summer is as good a time as any.'
McCoy now trails Richard Johnson, who scored today on Nordic Prince in the Persuasion Selling Hurdle, by nine in the jockeys` title race.
