MYTH MAY FACE NUNTHORPE CHALLENGE

Impressive Queen Mary Stakes winner Romantic Myth may take on older horses in the Nunthorpe Stakes at York on August 24th, it was revealed today.

The Tim Easterby-trained juvenile, unbeaten in three races, is among 38 entries for the Group One prize.

Two-year-olds have won the five-furlong contest four times, Lyric Fantasy being the last to do so in 1992.

Romantic Myth's owner/breeder Terry Holdcroft explained: "She's also in the Lowther Stakes the same day so we're going to decide later.

"Obviously it's a possibility - she'd be receiving an awful lot of weight from the older horses - and it has been done before by Lyric Fantasy."

Connections are hoping to get a run into the filly before she takes up one of her options at York and Holdcroft reports her in good form since her two-and-a-half length defeat of Al Ihsas at Ascot.

"She's very, very well," he said. "She's thrived since Ascot and put on weight - Tim is delighted with her.

"There are two months before York and we'd like to get a run into her before then.

"She's in the Weatherbys Super Sprint but she'd have to carry an 8lb penalty there.

"She's also in the Heinz 57 Stakes in Ireland and we have spoken about the Cherry Hinton but if she were lucky enough to win that she'd have a 5lb penalty in the Lowther.

"We've got a few options and Tim is certain she will have no problems with six furlongs."

Aidan O'Brien, who sent out Stravinsky to land the Nunthorpe last season, is responsible for eight of the entries including the juvenile Dietrich.

A high-class entry of 42 horses has been revealed for the Juddmonte International on August 22nd, the first day of the Ebor meeting.

They include Dubai Millennium and Montjeu, plus leading Coral-Eclipse fancies Sakhee, Beat Hollow, Shiva and Kalanisi.

Henry Cecil's Ramruma and Love Divine, the last two winners of the Vodafone Oaks, are among 42 entries for the Aston Upthorpe Yorkshire Oaks on August 23.
