MURGHEM IN PRINCESS FIELD

Progressive middle-distance colt Murghem is set to have his sights turned to the prestigious July meeting at Newmarket next week.

Mark Johnston's charge, who has completed a hat-trick this summer, and his stablemate Yavana's Pace were among today's 12 confirmations for Tuesday's Princess of Wales's Stakes.

The Henry Cecil-trained Beat Hollow, an absentee from this Saturday's Coral-Eclipse, has been taken out of the one-and-a-half-mile Group Two contest.

But his stablemate Shiva, who is set to run at Sandown this weekend, has been left in the race.

Sir Michael Stoute is another trainer with a possible double representation in the race, having left in Beat All and Little Rock.

Godolphin also have a two entries - Mutawafeq and Sea Wave - and the Maktoum Family's hand is strengthened further with Rainbow Ways (Maktoum Al Maktoum) and Hataab (Hamdan Al Maktoum).

The race is given added spice by Endless Hall, the winner of a Group One event in Milan, who has joined Luca Cumani and Commander Collins and Lucido, who are both trying to re-establish themselves after injury.

Entries: Beat All, Commander Collins, Endless Hall, Hataab, Little Rock, Lucido, Murghem, Mutawafeq, Rainbow Ways, Sea Wave, Shiva, Yavana's Pace.

:: The going on the July Course is at present reported to be good to soft ahead of next week's three-day festival.

"We've had quite a lot of rain and we had another storm this morning," said clerk of the course Nick Lees.

"It's currently good to soft but the forecast is for it to get better over the weekend."
