Jockey Paul Moloney`s appeal against the seven-day ban he received at Cheltenham last Friday will be heard by the Jockey Club`s disciplinary committee tomorrow.
Moloney was found in breach of Rule 158 in that the jockey did not take all reasonable and permissible measures to achieve the best possible position aboard Saor Theas, 10th off 11 finishers in the EBF Novices` Hurdle qualifier.
The rider was suspended for seven days (December 18-21 and 26-28), Saor Theas banned from running for 40 days and trainer Christy Roche fined #1,000 for being in breach of Rule 155, which covers a trainer`s duty to give adequate riding instructions.
The disciplinary committee will also hold an inquiry into the bizarre case of Chaguaramas who tested positive for ibuprofen after winning at Windsor in June.
The Richard Hannon-trained two-year-old tested positive after reportedly licking the back of the stable`s shirtless blacksmith before her winning debut in the Edward Symmons & Partners EBF Median Auction Maiden Stakes.
Unfortunately, the blacksmith had been taking the pain-killer Ibuprofen which entered the filly`s system.
