To mark their 10th season of sponsorship in jump racing Mitsubishi Motors will be expanding their programme of races during the 2000/2001 campaign.
The highlights of the six events to be backed are the Grade One Mitsubishi Shogun Tingle Creek Trophy at Sandown on December 2nd and the Grade One Mitsubishi Shogun Ascot on February 17th.
In last season`s Tingle Creek Trophy, Flagship Uberalles got the better of Direct Route by a neck after a protracted battle over the final two fences.
Sue Ellen, managing director of United Racecourses, said: 'We are delighted to be welcoming Mitsubishi Motors to Sandown for the 10th year and are hoping that this year`s renewal will be as thrilling as the last contest.'
The other Mitsubishi Shogun Series races are at Cheltenham on November 10, Newbury on February 10th, Doncaster on March 3rd and Cheltenham on April 18th.
