Minardi is set to miss tomorrow`s Darley Dewhurst Stakes at Newmarket.
Weatherbys have announced that the Aidan O`Brien-trained colt is a non-runner in the £200,000 contest.
The two-year-old, winner of the Middle Park Stakes last time, was due to be one of four Ballydoyle runners in the Group One event.
A spokesman for O`Brien explained: 'Minardi just coughed on the way to the gallops this morning, that`s why he`s a non-runner.'
Jockey arrangements have also been finalised for the trainer`s remaining three runners.
'Michael Kinane will ride Mozart, Jamie Spencer will ride Freud and Paul Scallan will ride Cashel Palace,' the spokesman added.
