Media Puzzle has been ruled out of action for the season and so will be unable to follow up last year?s victory in the Melbourne Cup.
Trainer Dermot Weld yesterday broke the news of his stayer saying, ?It has been a race against time to get him ready after the hold-up in Dubai earlier this year, and I?m just not prepared to risk him.?
?He won?t be running in the Irish St Leger or be ready in time for the Melbourne Cup, so we will now keep him for next year,? added Weld.
The master of Rosewell House will be represented at the Curragh on Saturday by Vinnie Roe, who attempts to land the Irish Field St Leger for a record third time.
Paddy Power and Cashmans both make Weld?s charge 9/4 market leader, although he is joint best with the Cork firm along with Powerscourt.
