Conditional jockey Christy McGrath today made a further court appearance charged with the murder of a 37-year-old man.
Irish-born McGrath, 23, appeared before magistrates in Newton Aycliffe, Co Durham.
He was remanded in custody to appear again on August 23 following the murder of former Newcastle United apprentice Gary Walton in Coundon, near Bishop Auckland, Co Durham.
McGrath, who is attached to Norman Mason's Brancepeth stable, had two winners from 22 rides this year.
