MCCOY STOOD DOWN AFTER SOUTHWELL FALL

Champion jumps jockey Tony McCoy has been stood down for 21 days after suffering concussion in a fall at Southwell today.

McCoy was injured when his mount Baron Allfours fell in division two of the Phoenix Roofing And Flooring Contractors Maiden Chase and was taken to hospital for a check-up.

A spokeswoman for Southwell racecourse said: 'He was concussed so they have taken him to the Queens Medical Centre at Nottingham as a precautionary measure.

'He will be stood down for 21 days.'

McCoy is currently leading the race for the 2000/1 jockeys' title with 38 winners.
