Following the retirement of Richard Dunwoody four-time champion jump jockey Tony McCoy will succeed him as joint-president of the Jockeys Association of Great Britain Ltd.
Michael Caulfield, chief executive of the Jockeys Association, said: "I am delighted that Tony has agreed to be joint-president of the JAGB. I feel Tony will carry on the good work of his predecessor who, despite being top of his profession, cared for his fellow jockeys and the jockey profession.
"I am very fortunate that the leading jockeys are willing to take on the responsibility of representing the association and I am sure Tony will be very committed."
McCoy added: "I am honoured to become joint-president of the Jockeys Association, succeeding two great jockeys in Peter Scudamore and Richard Dunwoody, and am aware of the responsibilities the position brings.
"The Jockeys Association works hard on behalf of Flat and jump jockeys and I will try to ensure it progresses."
John Reid is currently the Flat-race joint president.
