MANSELL RECOVERING WELL AFTER LATEST OPERATION

Jimmy Mansell, who has made a slow but steady recovery from injuries sustained in a fall at Ballinrobe last August, is reported to be doing well after a recent operation to remove a pipe from his throat.

The former champion claimer is fully conscious after the tracheotomy and is off a life support machine, although he is still in intensive care. ´This operation was necessary in order for Jimmy to go back to the re-habilitation centre for further treatment,´ said Turf Club doctor Walter Halley.
