Paul Cole`s Cornelius finished fourth behind Ethelinda in the Listed Prix Tantieme over a mile at Maisons-Laffitte today.
The Whatcombe raider, pipped for third by Rubruck, was beaten just under four lengths by the winner.
However, Luke Comer`s On The Ridge (sixth), Dermot Weld`s Major Force (eighth), plus the Dominic ffrench Davis`s runner Sir Ninja (ninth) failed to trouble the judge.
