Adrian Maguire, who only returned to action 10 days ago after suffering a torn ligament in his back, has been forced to give up his rides at Newcastle today after a fall on Saturday.
"I had a fall while schooling on Saturday morning and I'm just a bit sore - nothing serious - but I hope to be back on Wednesday," explained the jockey.
He recovered sufficiently from the spill to partner His Song to victory in the feature race at Naas a few hours later but missed his intended ride at Fairyhouse on Sunday.
The Irishman has ridden 51 winners in Britain so far this season.
Maguire was pleased with His Song's performance, who was a leading novice last season but had failed to score this term until his one-and-a-half-length victory over Danoli.
He said: "It was good to see the horse win again. He just idled over the last two fences and Mouse Morris (trainer) said he thought the horse would improve again.
"I don't think Mouse has made any plans for His Song yet."
