A unique sponsorship agreement has today been announced been Newmarket Racecourses Trust and the Macau Jockey Club, who are to sponsor the Craven Stakes next April.
The Group three event over the Rowley Mile is an important guide to the Sagitta 2000 Guineas and will have a prize fund of #40,000 next year - an increase of 14 per cent last season.
King`s Best, who finished second to Umistim in thehorsesmouth.co.uk sponsored Craven last April, went on to the take the first colts` Classic.
In return, Newmarket are to sponsor the Newmarket Trophy to be run over the metric mile at the Hipodromo da Taipa in Macau late next year.
The reciprocal agreement will run for an initial period of three years.
