The Ger Lyons trained Radar O’Reilly improved on two runner-up efforts in as many recent months when landing the concluding Irish Independent European Breeders Fund Maiden at the Curragh today.
Ridden by Lyons’ stable jockey Colin Keane, the son of Danehill Dancer made all and maintained his gallop to eventually hold off promising newcomer Laoch Na Mi by a length and a quarter.
Afterwards Lyons stated “we've had a frustrating few weeks with a good few seconds, so it's nice to get that ahead of this weekend.
"He loved it out in front, and he enjoyed the ground. I thought he would be ‘done’ by the trip as he gets further but it was a very good ride by Colin.
"He's similar to Intisari and is a big, honest horse. If he stays at 85 there is a premier handicap in him."
