Students will be out in force again at Leopardstown on Wednesday, with the Heritage Stakes the highlight on a seven-race card. Sruthan has to give weight all round in this mile Listed race, but may well be up to the task.
The Paul Deegan-trained seven-year-old relishes cut in the ground and is usually at his best around this time of the year.
Sruthan landed the Irish Lincolnshire in very impressive fashion on his seasonal debut last term, and won the Group Three Gladness Stakes on his reappearance in 2014. Onenightidreamed has a similar profile to Sruthan as he acts well on the soft.
Interestingly, he also has wins on his CV in both the Irish Lincolnshire and the Gladness.
The meeting of Forgotten Rules and Twilight Payment in the concluding staying race is another exciting clash on what should prove an informative card.
The pair went head to head at the Curragh last autumn, when Jim Bolger's colt just came out on top, but Forgotten Rules is better treated by the conditions on this occasion.
Aidan O'Brien may have the answer to the three-year-old maidens with Venice Beach (3.30) and Bound (4.00), while the veteran Bubbly Bellini may secure his 18th career win in the seven-furlong handicap.
