Two of Ireland's leading sprinters look set to go head to head in this years Kings Stand Stakes at Royal Ascot, with both Romantic Proposal and Logo Hunter reported firmly on course for the meeting.

Eddie Lynam, trainer of Romantic Proposal (Group 1 winner last year and won the Listed Woodlands Stakes at Naas on reappearance) said, “Two weeks to go and it’s all good. I’m very happy with her.

“She goes for the Kings Stand. It’s an International Group 1 now with Americans and Australians but her prep has gone great and I couldn’t be happier with her.”

When asked about the decision to go for the Kings Stand he added,

“It’s a very stiff five, you could say it’s like five and a half, and I know she has the speed for five.

“There is always the race on the Saturday and there is the July Cup after — we have loads of options.

“She will be left in on the Saturday but that is a hard task. We will just play it by ear.”

Meanwhile, Michael Browne said of Logo Hunter(2nd last time in the Sole Power Stakes at Naas), “He’s going to Royal Ascot for the Kings Stand.

“He’s in great form but he’d want to be for that. It’s nice to be going.

“He ran very well the last day at Naas and has come out of the race well.

“It was a very fast time, I think it was a track record, and he had to carry nearly ten stone.”
