Shane Jackson bagged his second big race of the week as Dark Bolero ran out an impressive winner of the Guinness Handicap Hurdle at Listowel on Thursday.
The promising claimer, who partnered Dingle Belle to success in the Lartigue Hurdle on Tuesday, produced a carbon copy ride to land the spoils in the 50,000 contest.
Philip Rothwell's charge hit the lead before the last and quickened in great style on the run-in to score by five-and-a-half lengths from The Spoonplayer.
'He's a horse we've always had a huge amount of time for,' said a delighted Rothwell afterwards.
'Things didn't work out for him at Galway and he went up 5lb for that so I chose to claim off him today. Shane gave him an amazing ride and sat very patient on him. I'm very proud of him.
'He'll go to Cheltenham in November hopefully, either for a novice or a handicap. He has done a lot of racing recently as he is a summer horse. I think he might be a Galway Hurdle horse next year.'
Dreamy Gent looked a horse on the upgrade when running out a convincing winner of the novice hurdle under Andrew Leigh.
Jessica Harrington's charge took over from front-runner Black Beauty approaching the second last and stayed on strongly to score by two lengths.
'After he won in Galway people said he was lucky as he went off in front and Imperial Rose fell at the last. He has proved that was no fluke,' said Harrington.
'He'll go for to Tipperary for the (Grade 3 Joe Mac) Novice Hurdle and he seems to be improving.'
Harrington went on to complete a double in the concluding bumper when Taravada ran out an impressive five-and-a-half length winner under Sean Byrne.
Breaking Silence stayed on strongly in the closing stages to get off the mark at the third time of asking over fences in the beginners chase.
'It was nice to get that out of the way,' said winning trainer Tom Taaffe. 'He was unlucky at Galway (when unseating at the first) and Tralee over 2m1f was not ideal but we wanted to get him back on track.'
'I'll have a chat with JP and Frank but I might give him a bit of a break. We could freshen him up for a few weeks and maybe find some nice ground in England for him.'
Moore's Law is set to go novice chasing himself after claiming the two-mile flat handicap in good fashion under Rory Cleary.
'That's him finished with the Flat for a while as he'll go novice chasing in the next couple of weeks,' revealed trainer Michael Grassick.
Ruby Walsh produced a typically stylish hold up ride aboard Man On The Nile as he swooped through at the last to claim the three-mile handicap hurdle.
Marikhar came with a strong final furlong burst to take the 1m4f handicap under Kieren Fallon while Air Twist produced a smart performance in the opening maiden when kicking clear off the home turn for a cosy success.
