Review LIMERICK 28TH DEC

Mark Grant once again dominated procedings at Limerick yesterday. He first of all landed the Woodlands House Hotel Handicap Chase with Ride The Storm. The Edward O'Grady-trained Ride The Storm is jointly owned by Nelius Hayes and Michael White.

22-year-old Grant later captured the featured Grade 3 Dorans Pride Novice Hurdle with Inexorable. A half-brother to Best Mate, the David Wachman-trained Inexorable stayed-on dourly to account for Moscow Court by a neck.

Gary Hutchinson partnered his first winner for trainer David Kiely by winning the Racing Focus Club 3-Y-O Maiden Hurdle with Roxbury. Roxbury ultimately beat Mama Jaffa by a length and a handicap hurdle will now more than likely feature on her itinerary.

Hutchinson was also in double form as he later made all of the running aboard Macroom permit-holder Gerry Kelleher's D'ygrande in the European Breeders Fund Tattersalls (IRE) Mares Beginners Chase.

Amateur Colman Sweeney was credited with his fourth racecourse success following the tenacious success of Nolans Pride in the Shannon Rovers GAA Maiden Hurdle. Nolans Pride incidentally is trained by Liam Burke for Roscarberry publican Denis Nolan.

Tommy Treacy was on the mark when the Malachy Ryan-trained Boolavogue Leader beat An Culainn Beag by a head in a driving finish to the Falks Lighting Handicap Hurdle. Boolavogue Leader was actually providing former St Patricks' Athletic footballer John McGeehan with an initial success as an owner.
