Review LIMERICK 27TH DEC

Flat jockey Seamie Heffernan partnered his first winner over hurdles at Limerick on Saturday aboard American Duchess in the Supermacs Dooradoyle Handicap Hurdle.

The Michael Hourigan-trained American Duchess struck the front before two out to beat Look Between Us by an unchallenged seven lengths.

David Wachman's Native Churchtown gained due reward for his consistency over flights by landing the opening Signs Express Maiden Hurdle with Mark Grant by seven lengths from The Real Solara. 22-year-old Grant meanwhile later went onto complete a treble. He returned to the number one spot aboard Tommy Stack's Hit The Net in the Guinness Christmas Festival Hurdle whilst he then combined with Sean Treacy to collect the Irish Independent Beginners Chase with the previous course winner Carneys Cross.

The Stanley Ryan-trained Golden Domer occupied a prominent position throughout en route to capturing the Adare Manor Handicap Hurdle with Willie Slattery. Golden Domer incidentally finished second in this same race for the past two years.

John Levins partnered his ninth career winner aboard the Charlie Swan-trained Contempo Suite in the Tim Duggan Memorial Handicap Chase.

Tallow permit-holder Mary O'Connor was credited with her second training success when Fourstargale and JT McNamara won the bumper by a half length from Jakers.
