Review LIMERICK 24TH JUN

Oliver Brady put on another show for the crowd at Limerick last night as he recorded a double courtesy of Stage Right and Ansari.

The Monaghan trainer is renowned for his celebrations and was in typically jubilant form after the victories.

Stage Right looked under pressure in the Grant Thornton Summer Hurdle but responded well for John Cullen and led at the final flight to beat Articulation by a length.

Celebrations were delayed after the Lisaleen Stables Handicap Hurdle as Ansari was awarded the contest in the stewards room after being edged out by a short-head by Tour De Force.

Tour De Force was found guilty of causing interference, when drifting right after the second last, and was demoted to third. Blue Corrig suffered worst and had to be switched before running on to finish third.

Brady will aim both the winners at Galway where they could run on the Flat or over hurdles.

It was also a big night for John Cullen, who registered a treble. He had preceded his victory on Stage Right by taking the Dark Horse Pub Patrickswell Maiden Hurdle aboard Greatrakes.

He had to get to work late on, on the Paul Nolan-trained colt, to hold off the challenge of Temporary Setback by a length.

He had a much easier time on 4/5 favourite Mamouna Gale in the Holmes O'Malley Sexton Novice Chase.

Edward O'Grady's mare went clear before the straight and had few problems registering her second win over fences.

Thunder Road was also a comfortable winner of the opening Munster Mares Maiden Hurdle while Peruvian Athlete led before two out to claim the Adare GAA Club Handicap Chase.
