LARGESSE SET FOR KEMPTON

Smart Flat performer Largesse is set to make his hurdling debut for Oliver Sherwood at Kempton Park on Saturday.

The six-year-old, second in last year's Yorkshire Cup when with John Berry, is also entered at Haydock Park at the weekend but his new trainer is favouring the Sunbury-On-Thames venue.

Largesse worked this morning and Sherwood said: "He'll probably run on Saturday and is more than likely to go to Kempton.

"I'm very happy with him and he schools really well - he's a real streetfighter."

Largesse was suited by give in the ground on the level and Sherwood added: "I wouldn't run him on firm ground but good ground over jumps is like good to soft on the Flat."

Sherwood's Cheltenham Gold Cup entry Kadou Nonantais is on course to return to action in the Bet Direct Peter Marsh Chase at Haydock on Saturday.

Successful in five of his seven starts over fences last season, the seven-year-old took a heavy fall on his final outing in the William Hill National Hunt Chase at the Cheltenham Festival.

First reports had indicated that the gelding, who came back lame, had been seriously injured but there was better news in the summer when his trainer revealed that an operation to remove bone chips from his shoulder had been successful.

"Kadou Nonantais goes for the Peter Marsh," Sherwood confirmed. "He has been progressing quite well and will improve for the run.

"There are no immediate plans for him yet. We'll play it by ear and get this race out of the way first,"
