LAME PEARL MISSES CHERRY HINTON

Coral-Eclipse-winning rider George Duffield was denied the chance to land another Pattern-race win for Aidan O'Brien today.

His intended mount Freshwater Pearl was found to be lame this morning and misses the Group Two thehorsesmouth.co.uk Cherry Hinton Stakes at Newmarket.

A spokesman for trainer O'Brien said: "Unfortunately the horse was lame this morning and is a non-runner."

Duffield, 53, had been due to deputise for the injured Michael Kinane on the O'Brien-trained Freshwater Pearl, as he had when winning the Eclipse on stable-companion Giant's Causeway at Sandown on Saturday.
