Daniel King had a night to remember at Ballinrobe when partnering his first treble, at odds of 560/1, courtesy of Likable Chancer in the two-mile-seven handicap chase.

The Danny Howard-trained gelding went to post a 16/1 shot having been a moderate enough sixth on his last outing at Kilbeggan.

King got a good tune from the Gold Well gelding, leading over the third last and powering clear in the closing stages for a seven-length win.

The 19-year-old said:- “It’s great. My season was slow enough to get going but thankfully it’s picked up and I’m starting to get a few more rides.

“It’s great when you have days like this and all the hard work pays off.

“I was hopeful that I would get a winner but to get three it’s great.

“I’m very lucky that I have great people supporting me throughout my career and only for them it couldn’t be done.

“All my family have been very good to me and I’ve been with Denis Hogan since I was 16 and he’s been very good to me as well. I couldn’t have done it without all these people.

“When I was younger I wanted to go jumping but I started off on the Flat to get a bit of experience and to tidy up my riding.”

The winnning rider had also taken the first two races on the card, aboard Solar Drive and Ah Fuhgeddaboudit

King was actually winning his fourth race in a row having partnered a winner on the Flat at Galway on Tuesday.
