Kempton finally gets go ahead

This afternoon's meeting at Kempton goes ahead after the track passed a third inspection.

Clerk of the course Brian Clifford held an initial check at 8am but that look proved inconclusive, as did a second inspection at 10am.

However, following a third assessment at 11am, Clifford was finally able to give the meeting the go-ahead.

He said: "Racing goes ahead. It's improving all the time. It was white half an hour ago but that's all starting to disappear now.

"The frost was not in the ground, it was just white on top and a bit crispy."
