Keane scores double on Doyle's Annie Irish Jockey Colin Keane completed a double at Gowran today when steering the Liz Doyle trained Annie Irish to win the concluding Pick 6 Is Heading For One Million Handicap (div 2). Keane was earlier successful with today’s Group 3 feature winner Princess Andorra and produced Annie Irish from off the pace to eventually record a length and a quarter success over Princess Tamay. Doyle later stated “the horse that won the previous race (William Ashford) was drawn 15 and came up the left-hand rail and because Annie Irish misses the kick a bit, we decided to do the same thing and Colin gave her a beautiful ride. “She got hung up in the stalls three runs ago and had to be withdraw and had to stand in for two or three week with a cut after that. It then took a while to get her fit again and it's good to have her back and she loves this place and always runs well. “We'll keep tipping away with her and she might do a bit of Dundalk and she's missed half the season.” By Tom Weekes, quotes from Gary Carson
