Karl Des Tourelles recorded a shock 100/1 win on debut at Gowran Park last Saturday and connections are looking ahead to the Fairyhouse Easter meeting if the four-year-old is not sold in the meantime.

The Philip Fenton-trained gelding appeared to relish the very testing ground conditions when drawing clear in the closing stages to take the Sea Moon & Jukebox Jury At Burgage Stud Maiden Hurdle by six lengths.

Fenton reports the French-bred gelding to have taken the race well saying: “He came out of the race in top form.

"He has a bright future, is very laid-back and took the race with a pinch of salt.

“I suppose our hand might be forced a little bit as his lack of experience might count against him. He will probably run at Fairyhouse next, then he'll have enough time to recover for Punchestown.

"We own him ourselves and if the right offer came along, we'll sell. We don't mind if he has to move yards as that is not that important anymore and if he wins for someone else, so be it."

The two-mile Gowran event has been won by some smart horses in the past including Saldier and Djakadam.
