Kagney wins bumper for Meade/Carberry Former Champion Amateur Nina Carberry came in for praise from winning trainer Noel Meade following her win on the former Champion Trainer’s Kagney (6/4f), which made all for a convincing win in the concluding Daisy Lodge Fashion Show Bumper at Downpatrick today. Carberry sent the son of Kalanisi clear with two furlongs to race and the gelding maintained his gallop for an easy win over Up The Navan Road. Afterwards Meade stated “we ran him last week in Listowel and we felt we didn't make enough use of him and he got tapped for a bit of toe. He stays well and we thought we would give him one more chance in a bumper. "Nina is getting better all the time. She is riding work every day in Ballydoyle and is a great asset."
