Kings Measure will take his chance in Saturday's Castle Eden Brewery Dipper Novices' Chase at Newcastle, trainer Malcolm Jefferson has confirmed today.
The gelding, a winner at Newcastle and Wetherby this season, was in the process of chasing home Gloria Victis when falling at the last in the Pertemps Partnerships Feltham Novices' Chase at Kempton over Christmas.
Racegoers were left fearing the worst when he lay prostrate on the ground for minutes after the race before getting to his feet.
However, he does not appear to have been badly affected by the experience.
"He's very well and he's an intended runner," Jefferson said.
"As far as we can see he's fine in his schooling and we're hopeful."
Another of Jefferson's leading lights is in action at Wetherby on Thursday when Tote Cheltenham Gold Cup entry Tullymurry Toff runs in the Monkton Chase.
"I just asked the owner and he said put him in so that's why he's in the Gold Cup," Jefferson added.
"Whether he'll run in it or not I don't know. It's just the way things are going with his handicap mark we might be forced to run in one or two of these better races. Time will tell."
