KINGMAMBO RESTS

Kingmambo, US-based sire of Sagitta 2000 Guineas winner King's Best, is to miss the rest of the breeding season in order to recover fully from a stomach infection.

A spokesman for Lane's End Farm in Kentucky revealed that the stallion was felt not to be himself after he was treated with antibiotics so it has been decided to rest him until next year.

Kingmambo has also sired the Japanese horse of the year and Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe runner-up El Condor Pasa plus Belmont Stakes winner Lemon Drop Kid.
