Jockey plans remain fluid for Saturday's Juddmonte Lockinge Stakes at Newbury.
Amanda Perrett remains hopeful that Michael Kinane will be able to continue his successful association with Indian Lodge in the Group One contest.
But Kamil Mahdi has to find a jockey for Almushtarak following the news that Kieren Fallon is required to ride Trans Island on Saturday.
Kinane has ridden Indian Lodge to both his victories this season, in the Weatherbys Earl Of Sefton Stakes at Newmarket and the KLM UK Mile at Sandown.
However, he may be required to ride Saffron Walden for trainer Aidan O'Brien on Saturday, although the four-year-old has an alternative engagement in Sunday's Prix d'Ispahan at Longchamp.
Indian Lodge's trainer Amanda Perrett said today: "As far as I know Michael Kinane will ride.
"That could change but I understand he will ride him."
However, Kinane, speaking at York, warned: "I don't know if I'll be able to ride Indian Lodge, it all depends on what happens in France.
"I'll have a better idea tomorrow."
Kamil Mahdi is still searching for a jockey for Almushtarak, third behind Fly To The Stars in this race last season.
The trainer had pencilled in Fallon for the ride but the champion jockey is instead set to partner the Ian Balding-trained Trans Island in the #135,000 race.
Mahdi said: "His agent called me yesterday morning to confirm that Kieren Fallon would ride Almushtarak.
"However, he phoned back this morning and told me that Ian Balding wanted Kieren Fallon for Trans Island.
"At the moment I don't know who will ride him, I will have to speak to the owner in Kuwait."
Almushtarak has had one race this season, finishing third behind Indian Lodge and Trans Island at Sandown.
"He's in very good order," Mahdi added. "He ran a brilliant race at Sandown and was a bit unlucky - he should have won.
"The horse has come on well from Sandown and hopefully he'll run a good race on Saturday."
Balding will run Trans Island at Newbury as long as the going is not too fast.
The trainer said: "Trans Island will definitely run providing the ground isn't very firm.
"Kieren Fallon will ride."
Ray Cochrane, who has partnered Almushtarak in the past, will be aboard the Nigel Tinkler-trained Sugarfoot in Saturday's contest.
The son of Thatching graduated from handicap company to pattern races last season, winning the Park Stakes at Doncaster, and returned to Town Moor last month to win the rescheduled Levy Board Leicestershire Stakes.
However his trainer believes he will have to improve again to have a chance of winning here.
Tinkler said: "It's likely that he will run. The only thing that would stop us running would be if the ground was firm.
"He's definitely better at a mile, we could just do with a little bit of rain.
"I would say that he's definitely come on since Doncaster, he only went to Doncaster three-parts fit and he's definitely improved.
"He would need to because the majority of these horses are rated 7lb higher than him so he's got to find 7lb on his previous form.
"He hasn't let us down and I'm sure he'll run a great race. He'll be doing his best and it would be lovely if he could finish in the first three but obviously he's got to improve 7lb to win the race - or they've got to run 7lb worse.
"The biggest shame is that there aren't many Group Twos in Britain so we've got no alternative but to go straight for a Group One."
The going at Newbury continues to dry out and is now described as good to firm.
