Perigee Moon and Mediterranean provided leading Irish trainer Aidan O`Brien and his jockey Michael Kinane with a double at Leopardstown on Monday.
Kinane guided Perigee Moon to a comfortable one-length success in the Group Three Killavullan Stakes.
Despite drifting out to 4-1, the son of Hennessy produced a decisive change of gear on the outside to defeat 16-1 chance Dr Brendler with the favourite Lethal Agenda a well beaten fourth.
'Michael was impressed with the way this horse quickened in the straight. He is a great mover and could develop into a Guineas horse next spring,' said O`Brien.
Mediterranean made no mistake with a four-length victory over Delude in the Sycamore E.B.F Maiden.
Kinane took his time in the heavy ground on the Sadler`s Wells half-brother to Classic Cliche and relished this stamina test over a mile.
O`Brien said: 'This fellow is a great mover and would have been out earlier in the season only for the fact that he wascoughing.'
Favourite backers got it right in the Listed Trigo Stakes as Jammaal defied top-weight for Curragh trainer Dermot Weld in the hands of the new champion jockey Pat Smullen.
Never out of the first four in 10 starts, Jammaal was certainly not winning out of turn and he showed his liking for heavy going by quickening clear early in the home straight to reward those who supported him from 3-1 to 9-4.
