Stayers` Hurdle winner Bacchanal will make his chasing debut at Newbury on Saturday after all, it was revealed today.
Henderson had been wary of giving the six-year-old his jumps debut in the absence of injured jockey Mick Fitzgerald.
But after the gelding schooled under Richard Johnson this morning it was decided to let him take his chance in the cantorindex.com Fulke Walwyn Chase.
Henderson said today: 'He`ll run in the chase on Saturday. Mr Johnson came down to school him this morning and he will ride.
'I didn`t expect him to be as good over fences as he has been at home because his technique over hurdles wasn`t exactly ideal.
'Mick`s done all the work with him and sadly Mick isn`t going to be available.
'But we schooled him this morning and he was very good. He`s been nothing but brilliant.'
The Seven Barrows trainer also had news of the Mitsubishi Shogun Tingle Creek Chase at Sandown a week on Saturday where he is likely to be double-handed.
Arkle Trophy winner Tiutchev is set to make his return to action in the Grade One event and could be joined by Get Real, a gallant second to Carlovent last week.
'Tiutchev is in great form,' Henderson said. 'He`s on target for the Tingle Creek and Get Real will probably join him because he`s got nowhere else to go.
'He`s not going to beat Tiutchev at level weights but what else can I do.'
