Officials at Newmarket are hoping that top Japanese sprinter Agnes World will take part in the Darley July Cup at headquarters on July 13th.
The Hideyuki Mori-trained five-year-old won the Prix de l'Abbaye at Longchamp last season and is one of 61 entries revealed for the Group One contest, along with stable-companion Dojima Muteki.
Newmarket director of racing Nick Lees said: 'His connections indicated after the l'Abbaye that the Darley July Cup would be part of his agenda this year and we will now do everything we can to encourage them to bring them over for the race.'
Agnes World was based at Robert Armstrong's yard in Newmarket prior to his French triumph and was also among the original entries for the July Cup in 1999.
Aidan O'Brien, who sent out Stravinsky to win last year's renewal, is responsible for 11 of the entries including Sagitta 2000 Guineas runner-up Giant's Causeway and Monashee Mountain.
Godolphin have a total of eight entries including Diktat, Lujain and Lend A Hand.
Other notable entries include Middle Park Stakes winner Primo Valentino and Pipalong and Kier Park, first and second in the Victor Chandler Palace House Stakes at Newmarket last Saturday.
