With four Irish trained horses winning in the UK over the last two days, another six go in search of success across the water at Hexham this afternoon.

The first Irish raiders of the day come in the second race at 2:25 which is a Beginners Chase over 2m 4f.

Decent handicap hurdler Sean Airgead for Mark McNiff will be making his debut over fences in the race while the James Lambe trained Yachvili also takes his chance.

The James Black trained experienced point-to-pointer Maypole Dancer is the other Irish trained runner in the race.

Thirty five minutes later Black has another runner in the shape of Schindlers Maze who will need to rediscover his form of old if he is to feature.

The Noel Kelly trained Cilliseal on the other hand has been running well of late and looks likely to go off favourite for the 3m 1f Handicap Chase with seven pound claimer Derek Fox in the saddle.

The James Lambe trained Oola Lad rounds off the day for the Irish challengers in the 2m Handicap Chase at 4:40.

This former Edward O’Grady trained inmate has been running in point-to-point’s of late and is hard to fancy for today’s contest with Brian Hughes in the saddle.
