Trainer Arthur Moore is enjoying a good run of form and is hopeful that the promising Sea Ducor can add to the stable’s gains in the near future.

The Caragh handler’s last two runners, Fag An Bealach at Downpatrick last week and Midland Millie at Punchestown yesterday, have both hit the target.

A lightly-raced 4-year-old by Sea The Moon, Sea Ducor won on the Flat last October at Navan when scoring on his handicap debut over 1m6f.

At that time Moore was relishing the prospect of going hurdling with his charge, describing him as “a natural jumper”.

He showed plenty of promise the following month at Punchestown, chasing home subsequent Triumph Hurdle second Aspire Tower when both horses were making their hurdling bows, with subsequent Grade 1 runner-up Wolf Prince finishing a place behind him.

Not seen since, Moore is looking forward to getting the Chris Jones-owned gelding back on a racecourse before long.

“He got a hairline fracture and has been off for nearly a year. To be honest the time may have done him good and he’s ready to run soon.

“Hopefully we’ll find a maiden hurdle for him and take it from there. He had a good run behind Aspire Tower who went on to be one of the best juveniles last season.

“He’s won on the Flat and can go back on the Flat again in the future. He’s a nice dual purpose horse.”
