Eight days before the start of the Cheltenham Festival, there will be no fewer than five runners from Ireland at Musselburgh tomorrow.
In the opening Aberlady Juvenile Maiden Hurdle Charlie Swan, who got off the mark as a trainer in Britain with a double at Ludlow last week, saddles Hot Bunny, whom he will be riding himself.
Swan has booked JP McNamara for his Born To Lead in the Macmerry Conditional Jockeys' Selling Handicap Hurdle but partners Ephony for Wexford-based Paul Nolan in the Whitecraig Handicap Hurdle.
Nolan also runs Frostbitten (Mr John Cullen) in the Forth FM Maiden Chase while Sue Bramall's Heritage (Cullen) takes on Ephony Lady.
Swan, who had two seconds and a third from three runners at Musselburgh three weeks ago, was attratced back by the prospect of better ground than currently prevails in Ireland.
'We are coming because of the ground,' he said. 'Both my runners seem in good form and hopefully they will both run well.' -PA
