Members of the Irish racing fraternity will hold a demonstration tomorrow morning to show their resentment of the Turf Club`s apparent refusal to secure the future of the industry.
The Irish racing industry is facing a substantial reduction in prize money if the government`s proposals for restructuring the administration of the sport are not accepted by the Turf Club.
Organisations representing the 25,000 employed in the industry support the government`s proposals which will result in up to IR£20 million per annum in additional resources being available to racing.
The demonstration, which is timed to coincide with a general meeting of the Turf Club at the Curragh racecourse, will involve stable and stud employees trainers, jockeys, owners, breeders, farriers and racecourse representatives.
