IRISH FIELD TO SPONSOR LEGER

The Irish Field will sponsor the Irish St Leger in a three year deal beginning with the latest renewal on September 13 at the Curragh.

The Irish Field takes over the sponsorship from the Smurfit Group, and Curragh manager Paul Hensey commented, ´The Irish Leger is one of Ireland´s most prestigious races, and we are delighted to have agreed a three year sponsorship with the Irish Field.´

The race has been won in recent times by Vintage Crop, Oscar Schindler and Vinnie Roe, and will be shown live on RTE, BBC and Channel 4 this year.

In other news, the Irish Field has appointed Leo Powell as their new Managing Editor. Powell is well-known in the bloodstock sector having worked with both Tattersalls and Goffs.
