Hurricane a Kerry specialist Hurricane Ridge obviously likes the Kerry air as he followed up last month's success at Killarney in the John F. McGuire Novice Chase at Listowel. Robbie Power made the early running on the 10/1 shot before relinquishing the lead with over a circuit to go as Silver Tassie came through. He was back to the fore four out where three jumped in a line. Bally Longford had dropped behind after a blunder six out. Hurricane Ridge went on from Shake The Bucket turning for home and kept on well in the closing stages for a two-and-a-quarter length success. Bally Longford stayed on again late on to grab the second spot on the line. 9/10 favourite Silver Tassie faded in the straight to finish last of the four. The winner has recorded three successes at Killarney in the past and was scoring at the other Kerry track for the first time. “He's won three at Killarney and I thought he was a bit of a course specialist but he loved it here today,” said Harrington. “He likes small fields. He's not that big but for a small horse he has lots of scope and jumps brilliantly. “He stays two-and-a-half miles well and should get three miles eventually. The (Lakeside Racing) syndicate are from Blessington and they're very lucky.” (Additional reporting by Alan Magee)
