A father and son combined to win the first race on the card (Tony & Danny Mullins) and the same thing happened in the last, except this time it was a father and daughter as Laura Hourigan partnered Dingaling to win the Killarney Racegoers Club Ladies Flat Race for her father Michael.
The winning son of Milan was having just his third start here after running in two maiden hurdles at Limerick and Naas respectively, on much softer ground.
He took up the running around two furlongs from home and out battled Galzig and Pauline Ryan to win by half a length at the line, with the fast finishing Dance the Devil a further three parts of a length back in third.
The well supported 11/8fav Alhellal under Katie Walsh was a further three and a half lengths back in fourth.
Winning trainer Michael Hourigan said afterwards, "He is my first winner for David Magnier of Grange Stud. He is by a good stallion in Milan. I think he would be good enough to win on the flat but we will probably go hurdling with him now.”
