Michael Hourigan Junior has renewed his trainer's license and is set to saddle his first runners in three years in the coming days.

Hourigan's last runner was in June 2010 and Prince Kazaz was due to be his first runner since until being withdrawn, due to the change in ground, from the opening maiden hurdle at Killarney yesterday.

Hourigan, who is based in Rathkeale, Co Limerick, today stated “I've a lot of young stock ready to start off and might have my first runner at Sligo on Wednesday. I'd a point to point winner recently at Ballysteen (Oil And Water) recently and hopefully will have plenty to run during the summer months.”

Hourigan, a former Champion Amateur jockey in Britain, had been assisting his father and namesake Michael Hourigan for the past three years.
