Hayes doubles up on resilient Coreczka There was a second Chris Hayes winner in as many races at Dundalk when Coreczka just came out on top after a blanket finish to the Hen & Stag Packages At Dundalk Stadium Handicap. Just about a length split the first five home in this mile contest, but Coreczka did enough to hold on from Rummaging after coming through from mid-division to lead a furlong out. She edged left inside the final furlong whilst Rummaging didn't enjoy a clear run over a furlong out and had to switch right. "She's a five time winner around here now so it's great," said winning trainer Clare Cannon. "She's been unlucky on the turf and Chris was upset with the ride he gave her in Leopardstown. He wanted another go on her. "She lost all winter as she was a very very sick mare. She spent three weeks in the UCD Veterinary College. I have them to thank that I have a horse at all. I thought we were going to lose her. "She lost half her face with a sinus infection and had a really nasty time of it. "I couldn't be more pleased as she's obviously my stable star. I can't get another one like her — I keep trying and can't do it! "Chris reckons we should try her back on the turf. She's had no winter because of the sickness so hopefully she can carry on now for the summer. "She had a three-timer here last year. I don't know if she'll do that again but we'll give it a go." Chris Hayes' earlier winner came about for Fozzy Stack in the 6.15 on Fasuba. (GC & EM)
