HURRICANE HEADS TO NEWBURY

Hurricane Floyd, beaten favourite in last week`s Scottish Equitable Gimcrack Stakes, is to bid for compensation in the Dubai Duty Free Mill Reef

Stakes at Newbury on September 16.

The Pennekamp colt came out of last Wednesday`s Group Two race at York 'a little stiff and sore' after finishing fourth to Bannister - a horse he

had beaten in his previous race at Newmarket.

'He didn`t have the best run in the race at York. He was a little stiff and sore afterwards but I foresee no problems and we head to the Mill Reef

at Newbury,' said trainer Jeremy Noseda today.

Noseda is mulling over his options for the next appearance of Tote Cambridgeshire favourite Man O`Mystery after he was touched off by Sobriety

in the John Smith`s Cup at York last month.

'He`ll have another run between now and then and we`ll decide after his next start,' the trainer said.

'I have about five choices for that next run and we`ll see how we go from there.'

Man O`Mystery is 14-1 favourite with Ladbrokes for the first leg of the Autumn Double at Newmarket on September 30.

The Newmarket trainer is hoping for better luck at York tomorrow when he saddles Fanaar in the Listed uTravel.co.uk Strensall Stakes.

'All is well with him. We`re not rushing him as he`s going to be around as a four-year-old and we`re taking that line.'

Unraced as a two-year-old Fanaar has had just three starts, suffering his only defeat in the Group One St James`s Palace Stakes.

Sandwiched between that unplaced run behind Giant`s Causeway at Royal Ascot were victories at Newmarket and Sandown.

Noseda has also left in Lil`s Jessy at today`s five-day stage for the Moyglare Stud Stakes at the Curragh on Sunday.

'I am going to sit down and have a look through the form and see what I make of the race and then make a decision,' he said of the juvenile filly

by Kris.

Noseda also confirmed that promising sprinter San Salvador had left his yard after being sold, reportedly to join Godolphin.

'I don`t know who he`s been sold to, but he was sold last week,' he said.
