Apprentice jockey Timmy Houlihan faces a lengthy spell on the sidelines after sustaining severe concussion in a fall at Leopardstown on Wednesday.
The injury was confirmed by Dr Walter Halley yesterday who described Houlihan as having 'sustained a serious head injury'.
Jump jockey Garrett Cotter also faces several weeks on the sidelines as he fractured his jaw when a horse kicked him in the face at Kilbeggan on Monday. Cotter left St James's Hospital yesterday having had his jaw surgically wired up.
